Biography
Career Recap: Notre Dame College School & Cushing Academy / Saint Francis University
Saint Francis University (D1 Northeast Conference (NEC)) Makenna was named a 3 time Northeast Conference Prime Performer and achieved 27 goals, 20 assists, 47 total points, 34 ground balls, 8 caused turnovers, 2 draw controls. Mak was awarded the Saint Francis University Athletics Heart & Hustle Award and Scholarship in 2025 and named Women’s Lacrosse Most Improved Player in 2024. Saint Francis women’s lacrosse team qualified for the NEC playoffs final 4 in each of Mak’s 3 years for the first time in school history.
At Cushing Academy (Ashburnham, Massachusetts) 2021/2022, Makenna served as team Captain and scored 31 goals with 27 assists for 58 points in her senior year.
At the Notre Dame College School (Welland, Ontario, Canada) Makenna was a four-year letter winner and a two-term captain leading the team to conference and regional championships, as well as final eight provincial championship appearances each year.
Personal
Majoring in Early Education/Special Education and minor in Psychology
Makenna is the daughter of Carrie and Lance Patten. Makenna has one sister Sydney Patten (25). Makenna chose Austin Peay because of the unique opportunity to be a part of building a brand-new women’s lacrosse program from the ground up. She is excited to make history and help lay the foundation for future success. Coach Rausch’s vision, leadership, and passion for the game were major factors in her decision- her energy and commitment to developing a strong, competitive team made an impression on her. She is proud to be a part of this journey and to represent APSU.
