Career Recap: Austin Peay

As a senior in 2024:

  • Earned her second-career All-Conference honors with a Third Team All-ASUN selection.
  • One of two Governors to start in all 19 games.
  • Led Austin Peay with 15 points, 29 shots, 27 shots on goal, and 1,682 minutes, while tying for a team-best six goals and two game winners.
  • Tallied her first of three assists in the season opener against Western Kentucky (Aug. 15), while also firing a pair of attempts and one shot on goal.
  • Scored the first goal of her senior campaign in Austin Peay’s 1-0 victory against Chattanooga (Aug. 15), where she had seven shots and a trio of attempts on net.
  • Scored a goa at Lindenwood (Sept. 1), sparking a goal-scoring streak where she would tally at least one in three of the next four matches. 
  • After registering a score one game later, scored the game-winner in the Governors ASUN Conference opener at Bellarmine (Sept. 19).
  • Her second score of ASUN play game at Jacksonville (Oct. 6).
  • Scored a goal and dished out an assist at West Georgia (Oct. 20).
  • Dished out an assist against Bellarmine in the first round of the ASUN Championship (Oct. 31).
  • Concluded her senior season with a career-high six goals, 15 points, 69 shots, 27 shots on goal, 1,682 minutes, while tying her career’s best mark with three assists and two game winners.

As a junior in 2023:

  • One of 11 players to play in all 21 matches, while tying for sixth with 18 starts and 1,500 minutes played in the Governors’ midfield.
  • Tied for second on the team with three goals and two assists while finishing third in points with seven.
  • Led the Governors with 34 shots and finished second in shots on goal with 18.
  • Continued her climb up the record books, and finished her junior campaign tied for 15th all-time in career goals and points with 10 and 25, respectively, and 20th in assists with five.
  • Started each of the first five games of the season.
  • Had a season-high five shots in the season opener against UT Martin, Aug. 17.
  • Had multiple shots in each of the first four matches of the season, with a shot on goal in three of those contests. 
  • Netted her first goal of the season in the 87th minute against Lindenwood, Aug. 20.
  • Tallied her first assist of the season on Ellie Dreas’ 22nd-minute goal against Bellarmine in the ASUN Conference opener, Sept. 14.
  • Fired multiple shots on goal in three-straight matches, Oct. 1-8.
  • Re-entered the scoring column in the home finale against Queens, Oct. 15.
  • Recorded her first-career postseason point on Dreas’ 80th-minute goal against Kennesaw State in the first round of Austin Peay’s inaugural ASUN Women’s Soccer Championship on Oct. 26.
  • Tallied her first-career postseason goal in the 15th minute of the ASUN Quarterfinals against Florida Gulf Coast, Oct. 29.

As a sophomore in 2022:

  • Earned 15 starts in 18 appearances. One of 11 Governors to play all 18 matches.
  • Led Austin Peay with a career-high in goals (4), shots on goal (15), and shots (31).
  • All four of her goals last season– and six of her seven-career goals – have come in the second half.
  • Her four goals were tied for 10th in the ASUN during the regular season and fifth among the league’s midfielders.
  • Her 31 shots were 16th in conference and fourth among her position.
  • Finished eighth on the team with 1080 minutes, logging at least 70 minutes five times and going the distance once.
  • Helped lead Austin Peay to its first win of the season on her season’s first goal in the 80th minute at UT Martin, Aug. 31.
  • Netted Austin Peay’s first ASUN goal on the opening kickoff of the second half against Lipscomb, Sept. 17.
  • Fired a season-high four shots at Central Arkansas, Sept. 22.
  • Tallied three shots – with all on target – at North Alabama, Sept. 25.
  • Scored her third goal of the season in the 50th minute against Eastern Kentucky, Oct. 2.
  • Found the back of the net in the following match against Jacksonville, Oct. 6, becoming the first Governor since Claire Larose to score in back-to-back matches.
  • Posted her sixth match with a perfect shot-on-goal percentage with a pair of attempts against North Florida, Oct. 9.
  • Ended her sophomore season 20th all-time in goals with seven and 21st in points with 17.

As a freshman in 2021:

  • A First Team All-OVC and OVC All-Newcomer Team selection, she was the 16th Governor to earn first-team honors in program history.
  • One of two freshmen in the OVC to earn a first-team selection, she was also the sixth Austin Peay soccer player to earn First Team All-OVC recognition in their freshman season
  • One of five Govs to play in all 17 matches, she made 16 starts and tallied 1,310 minutes of action.
  • Started in her collegiate debut, playing 77 minutes in the season-opening match at Western Kentucky, Aug. 19.
  • Her first collegiate goal was a game-winner, finding the back of the net in the 56th minute of the Govs’ 1-0 win at North Alabama, Sept. 12.
  • Dished out her first-career assist on a Rachel Bradberry goal in the first minute of the Governors’ 3-0 win at Alabama A&M, Sept. 16.
  • Recorded an assist for the second-straight game when she helped fellow freshman Haley Patterson find the back of the net in the ninth minute of a 1-1 draw against North Dakota, Sept. 23.
  • Helped the Govs to a 1-1 draw against Tennessee Tech, Oct. 14, with a 55th-minute goal.
  • Scored the game-winning goal of the Govs’ 3-0 win against Eastern Illinois, Oct. 21, in the 13th minute of the match.
  • Led the Governors with three goals, three assists, and two game-winning goals in her debut season.
  • Her team-high nine points ranked tenth in the OVC and were tied for the top-scoring mark by a freshman in the league.
  • Her three assists were tied for eighth in the conference and ranked second among OVC freshmen.

Poured in 23 goals and dished out a dozen assists in her junior season at Federal Way High School… was named a First-Team All-Area selection by the Seattle Times and a Second-Team All-Area selection by the Tacoma News Tribune during her junior campaign... also played tennis.

Alec Savannah Baumgardt is the daughter of Camille Baumgardt… her mother, Camille, played collegiate soccer at Evergreen State College, before continuing her career with the Portland Pride of the now defunct Continental Indoor Soccer League… has one sibling, Zane… born April 22… a leadership and organizational administration major.
