Biography

As a junior in 2013-14: Played in 29 games in 2013-14 for the Govs… had second-highest shooting percentage at 61.8 percent (42 for 68)… had 10 points and four rebounds off the bench against Memphis (Nov. 14)... went 3-of-3 from floor in games against Southern Illinois and Dalton State, scoring eight points in each contest…led the team in rebounds with seven at Central Michigan (Nov. 21)…made season’s only start at Eastern Illinois, (Jan. 18)…scored nine points, going 4-of-4 from the floor in that game…also had nine points and 5 rebounds at Morehead State (Feb. 19) in 33 minutes before tallying eight points and four rebounds in 14 minutes against Eastern Kentucky...tallied four or more rebounds five times. 

As a sophomore in 2012-13: Played in 28 games in second APSU season...got of to quick start by recording double-double in opener against Samford with 11 points and 12 rebounds in just 18 minutes...had 13 points and 14 rebounds over next two games off bench against Western Kentucky and DePaul...when Will Triggs encountered passport issues in Cancun started both Mexico contests...recorded season's second double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds  against Western Carolina...also tallied nine points and seven more rebounds against Gardner-Webb as starter...returned to off-bench role when Govs returned to states...had six rebounds apiece against Bera and Fairfield...knocked home 10 points against Oakland City, going 4-of-6 from the floor...failed to score against Memphis and Arkansas State before bouncing back with 15-point effort against Lipscomb, going 7of-9 from free-throw line...also had seven rebounds in contest, including five offensive grabs...snared seven rebounds against Utah Valley State in Chattanooga tourney...leg issues surfaced late in 2012, forcing him to miss High Point game in Chattanooga...garnered 10 against Belmont off bench, snapping string of 11 straight single-digit scoring games...finished season with 14 points, on 5-of-6 shooting against UT Martin...also grabbed six rebounds–most rebounds in two months...led Govs in rebounds 5 of first 13 games, but failed to lead in any of the final 18... dealt with injury issues in Canada during August trip...finished three-game series with eight points and seven rebounds in final game versus ABC All-Stars.

As a freshman in 2011-12: Played in 27 of 32 APSU games as freshman, including one start...played 19 minutes in opener against Middle Tennessee, scoring two points...tallied four points in four minutes against Cal before gaining first career start against Oral Roberts, playing season-high 20 minutes...scored four points in contest...made it four straight games with four points against George Washington, connecting on five-of-six free throws...in homes loss to MTSU grabbed season-high six rebounds vs. MTSU...started string of six games in which he played double-digit minutes...tallied then season-high six points vs. Memphis...saw limited action for month from late December to late January...played 12 minutes at EIU, finishing with five points, including key tip in right before halftime... also snared five rebounds...came off bench to score six points on three-of-five field goals while grabbing five rebounds in road loss at Belmont...continued to show late-season promise, scoring eight points versus Youngstown State, including four-for-four free-throw effort....broke into double figures for first time by scoring 10 points, on four-of-four field goal shooting, against UT Martin...also had five rebounds...for season shot impressive 56.4 percent from floor and 82.6 percent from free-throw line.

In high school: As senior, played for former Kentucky star and longtime college basketball assistant Reggie Warford at Muhlenberg High School, leading team to 24-6 record and district championship.. averaged 21.0 points per game, shooting 61 percent from the floor...also averaged 12.0 rebounds per game...tallied 25 double-doubles in 30 games...ranked in Kentucky's Top 15 in both shooting percentage and rebounding...chosen Region 3 Player of the Year...gained honorable mention All-State...selected to play in the Kentucky-Ohio All-Star game, capturing the Slam Dunk contest...being a transfer was not listed in Rick Bolus High Potential Recruiting for Kentucky...however, in February was listed as state's No. 7 recruit.

Personal: Mass communications, broadcast media major...son of Thelma and Chris Freeman Sr...father played college basketball at Union University...played for uncle Reggie Warford, the former Kentucky star, at Muhlenberg High School...cousin Derrick Warford played guard for Tennessee Titans in 2006 and another cousin, Bob Lanier, was a former Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks star who is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame....born Sept. 20, 1992…age 21.
