Third Team NJCAA All-Academic Team, 2022

2025 | Austin Peay

• Played in 11 games for the Govs in the ’25 season, coming into games late at third and second base as part of the “hands team”.

2024 | Austin Peay

• Played in 34 games, starting one at home against Maryland Eastern Shore (February 24), where he went 1-for-4 with a double and scored a run in the Game 2 victory of the three-game weekend series.
• Posted a .263 batting average, collecting a pair of doubles on the season.
• Went 2-for-3 with two singles after coming into the game as a defensive replacement against Jacksonville (April 14).
• Was flawless in the field with a 1.000 fielding percentage, putting out seven and earning 13 assists in 20 chances.

2023 | Western Oklahoma State College

• Missed the start of the regular season, ultimately playing in 19 games.
• Batted .375 with a .516 on-base percentage in his limited action.
• Went 1-for-3 with two RBI with a home run and two RBI against Rose State College (May 2).
• Had a 2-for-2, two RBI outing against Northern Oklahoma-Enid to help WOSC win NJCAA Region 2 tournament (May 14).

2022 | Western Oklahoma State College

• Played in 26 games as a freshman and batted .326 with a .523 on-base percentage.
• Stole 12 bases and earned 16 walks during the season.
• Had 2-for-3 outing in Pioneers debut, scoring twice, against Rose State (Feb. 15).
• Scored three times, went 1-for-1 with three walks, and stole two bases against National Park College (April 22).

Prep Career

• Was a middle infielder for head coach Chad McBroom at North Crowley High School.

• Mateo Mauricio Hernandez is the son of Erika and Martin Hernandez.
• Birthday is May 25.
• Has two siblings: Isabella and Camila.
• Has two uncles: Germán and Jose Durán, who played baseball collegiately, Germán played one season with the Texas Rangers.
