CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Terry Taylor, of the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, has been named this week’s APSU Athlete of the Week.

The Bowling Green was maddeningly efficient last week against Tennessee Tech and Jacksonville State, posting 21.5 points on 53.1 percent from the floor, 83.3 percent at the line and 44.4 percent from beyond the arc. Against the Golden Eagles, he posted a team-high 24 points and 10 boards for his 51st career double-double and handed out a season-high four assists. With Jacksonville State keying on him defensively in the post, he stepped out and hit three three-pointers en route to a team-high 19 points Saturday, combining with Jordyn Adams to score 14 of Austin Peay’s first 20 points.

Taylor earned a slew of honors this week, being placed on the midseason Watch Lists for the Jerry West Award, the Lute Olson Award and the Lou Henson Award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

• Redshirt sophomore forward D’Shara Booker, of the women’s basketball team, made her season’s first three starts last week and averaged 10.7 points and 7.0 rebounds while hitting 73.7 percent (14-for-19) from the floor, including a 9-for-9 mark Monday night to lift the Govs to victory over Murray State.
• Junior Sara Martin, of the women’s cross country team, shattered her personal-best with a 19:25.74 in the five-kilometer race at the Belmont Opener, breaking 20 minutes for her first time as a Gov to earn her second top-40 finish in as many appearances at the Bruins’ home meet.
