CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Senior Tala Mumford, of Austin Peay State University women’s golf team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Mumford earned a share of first place at last week’s UAB Beach Bash with an even-par 144 (70-74) in the two-round event. She lost out on medalist honors to Southern Mississippi’s Brandi Rodriquez on the second playoff hole at the Pensacola Golf and Racquet Club.
Her score led the Lady Govs to a third-place team finish, their best of the fall, and was the second-best two-round score in Austin Peay women’s golf history. Her first-round 70 was one shot off the best round in program history, and led the Lady Govs to school records for 18 holes (295) and 36 holes (595).
Mumford’s efforts earned her adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Female Golfer of the Week, the first weekly honor for a Lady Gov since Jessica Cathey won for the week of April 17, 2013.
The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.
