Freshman outside hitter Brooke Moore, of the Austin Peay State University volleyball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Moore nabbed her first adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week honor after posting a team-best 10 kills at Tennessee Tech, hitting .348 to help head coach Taylor Mott earn her 400th career victory. She followed that with a 12-kill, no error performance against Southeast Missouri, hitting .545 in the process.

The Louisville, Kentucky native has 162 kills (third-most on the team) and is hitting .181 in her first season. She was the Governors first Newcomer of the Week selection since Sept. 26, 2016 (Kaitlyn Teeter).

The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Wednesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

  • Junior setter Kristen Stucker, of the volleyball team, made it five straight adidas® OVC Setter of the Week honors and seven of eight this season, averaging 11.22 assists per set and piloting Austin Peay to a .233 attack percentage, highlighted by a 44-assist outing in a three-set sweep of Jacksonville State.
  • Freshman Chase Korte, of the men’s golf team, carded a one-under 215 (72-72-71) at the 2017 F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, sharing sixth in his first appearance in the Governors home tournament.
  • Sophomore defensive end Jaison Williams, of the football team, recorded seven tackles, including two sacks, and forced a pivotal first-quarter fumble in the Governors 21-17 win at Tennessee State.
  • Freshman Fabienne Schmidt, of the women’s tennis team, advanced to the semifinals of the B-draw at the 2017 ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships as an individual, highlighted by a hard-fought 6-3, 6-4 win against Xavier’s Lauren Fitz-Randolph, and teamed with Brittney Covington to advance to the B-Draw’s doubles final.
