Clarksville, Tenn.– Senior outfielder Kacy Acree, of the Austin Peay State University softball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Acree opened her final campaign by destroying opposing pitching at the UAB Invitational last week. The Riverside, California, native hit .533 with 11 RBI, paced by two doubles and two homers on the week. She drove in a run in all five of Austin Peay’s contests in Birmingham.
Acree began her senior season with a 2-for-2 performance against ULM, cranking a homer and driving in four runs in a 10-0 win, then went 2-for-3 with another bomb and four RBI in an 18-4 drubbing of the host Blazers.
Acree’s dominant performance earned her the first Ohio Valley Conference Softball Player of the Week honor of the 2019 season, the first of her Austin Peay career.
The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Wednesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.
