Clarksville, Tenn.–Senior utility player Morgan Rackel, of the Austin Peay State University softball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

In Austin Peay’s final in-season tournament, Rackel posted a 3-0 showing with a microscopic 0.67 ERA and posting a complete game in all three starts for the Govs at the Miami Invitational.

In the opener, Rackel posted her season’s fourth shutout in a 6-0 blanking of Dayton. Opponents hit just .178 against the lefty, and she struck out 23 in 21.0 innings of work to earn her second Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week honor for the 2019 season.

The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Wednesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

• Junior pitcher Jacques Pucheu, of the baseball team, struck out a career-high 12 batters over six scoreless innings to help the Govs earn the win—and take the series—against defending OVC champion Tennessee Tech.
• Freshman Taylor Dedmen, of the women’s golf team, turned in her second straight top-10 finish with a ninth-place showing at the Citrus Challenge in Sorrento, Florida, shooting a 226 (74-75-77) over the three-day event.
