CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.– Freshman right-side hitter Tegan Seyring, of the Austin Peay State University volleyball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week, Wednesday.
Seyring, of Tallahassee, Florida, was called off the bench in the third set of Friday’s match against Southeast Missouri and helped the Governors rally back to tie the match which forced a fifth set. In the three sets she played again she the Redhawks she posted 11 kills (3.67 per set) and three blocks.
Less than 24 hours later, Seyring put forth her best performance of the season in Austin Peay’s victory against UT Martin. She posted a career-best 13 kills against the Skyhawk’s while hitting .296 and posting three blocks again.
Seyring was named the Ohio Valley Conference’s Newcomer of the Week.
The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Athletics Communications staff each Wednesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.
Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:
- Junior Claire Larose, of the Austin Peay soccer team, scored what proved to be the game winner for the Governors in the 15th minute Friday against Eastern Kentucky. The goal made her the first Governor to score multiple times this season, increasing her point total to six. Larose then added another point on Sunday against Tennessee Tech.
- Freshman Anton Damberg, of the Austin Peay men’s tennis team, playing as the number 2 went undefeated the 2nd day in singles.
