Clarksville, Tenn. – Junior guard Tiasha Gray, of the Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Highlights of Gray’s stand-out week included a 33-point outburst against Western Kentucky and her second career triple-double against Saint Louis en route to all-tournament honors at the Lady Griz Holiday Classic, where Austin Peay advanced to the championship contest.
For the week, Gray averaged 22.7 points on 43.9 percent (25-for-57) shooting. She hit 46.7 percent (7-for-15) from beyond the arc and 84.6 percent (11-for-13) from the charity stripe while also pulling down 6.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists to go along with 3.3 steals.
Her 33 points against Western Kentucky closed out the home portion of the Lady Govs non-conference schedule, but it was her performance against the Billikens that earned her adidas®/Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week honors. Her 12-point, 10-rebound, 12-assist effort netted her – and the program’s – second-ever triple-double, and just the 10th in Division I in 2014-15.
The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.
Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:
- Freshman guard Josh Robinson, of the men’s basketball team, earned OVC Freshman of the Week honors after pouring in a career-high 23 points and hitting seven three-pointers against Oakland City.
