Clarksville, Tenn. – Freshman midfielder McKenzie Dixon, of the Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

The freshman from Bentonville, Arkansas, came to Austin Peay as a highly-decorated recruit and proved her mettle last week, recording a hat trick in the Lady Govs’ 7-1 drubbing of Western Illinois, Friday, at Morgan Brothers Field, the first by an APSU player since Tatiana Ariza, Oct. 4, 2013.

Dixon scored three times in three different fashions: her 22nd minute tally came during the pace of play, while she scored off a penalty kick in the 33rd minute and completed the hat trick on a free kick in the 79th minute.

Tuesday, Dixon earned her first career adidas®/Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor, the first for a Lady Gov in 2015 and the first by an Austin Peay offensive player since Ariza for the week of Oct. 8, 2013.

The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Wednesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

  • Sophomore Martin Rejman, of the men’s cross country team, paced the Govs with a 15:36.24 mark in the 5000m run at last weekend’s Powerade Invitational, placing seventh overall.
  • Freshman setter Kristen Stucker, of the volleyball team, earned All-Tournament honors at the Scenic City Showdown in Chattanooga last weekend, assisting on 120 of Austin Peay’s 167 total kills. She had her best outing in Austin Peay’s first-ever win against UAB, posting a career-best 47 assists.
