CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Senior Jessica Gray, of the Austin Peay State University women’s cross country team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Gray was runner-up in the women’s five-kilometer event at the Cross Country-Only National Invitational in Richmond, Virginia, Saturday, posting a personal-best 18:21.60 mark—the second time this season she has lowered her personal-best.
In Austin Peay’s final tune-up before the conference meet, Gray’s runner-up mark, mere seconds behind winner Adriana Cook of Marshall, was aided by Molly Jordan’s seventh-place finish in what would ultimately result in a third-place team finish in the event.
The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Wednesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.
