Football's Wilson named APSU Athlete of the Week

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. ? Freshman Bradley Wilson stepped up for the Governors, last Saturday, placing two field goals
through the uprights in overtime against Pioneer Football League-South rival Davidson College, making him the Austin Peay
State University Athlete of the Week. The Govs won the game, 20-17, and boosted their record to 2-8.
The kicker from Marietta, Ga., also was named PFL Special Teams Player of the Week and the Don Hansen National
Weekly Football Gazette I-AA Mid-Major Special Teams Player of the Week.
Wilson hit a 34-yard field goal in the game's first overtime and followed that with the game-winning 33-yard field goal in the
second overtime. In addition, he punted seven times for 287 yards (40.6 yards per punt), dropping four inside the 20.
Prior to Saturday, Austin Peay had not made a field goal in its 46 previous quarters, dating back to Game 10 a year ago. The
last time the Govs made two field goals in one game was when Justin Deardoff helped the team knock off Jacksonville, 20-16,
Sept. 28, 2002.

Volleyball's Sarah Schramka led the Lady Govs in kills over the weekend, with 27 against Samford and 25 against
Jacksonville State, bringing her season total to a team-high 360 kills. The senior from Menomonee Falls, Wis., also
supplied 42 digs and six blocks in the weekend victories. She is now only 31 kills away from setting an APSU career
kills record and 47 kills away from reaching the 1500 career kills mark.

Sophomore Charlie Forte was named Co-PFL Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Saturday's win
against Davidson. The linebacker from Springfield, Tenn., racked up a team-high 17 tackles for the Govs and recorded
two sacks, one in each overtime, forcing Davidson into long field goal attempts. He was also responsible for four tackles
for loss and a pass breakup, while providing a total of 36 tackles in the Govs' back-to-back victories.
