CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. ? Sophomore center Janay Armstrong has been suspended indefinitely due to a violation of team policies, Austin Peay State University head coach Carrie Daniels announced, Thursday.

The suspension will include at least the Lady Govs upcoming contest, Saturday, at Tennessee-Martin. It is Armstrong's second suspension in the past two weeks. She also was suspended from the Lady Govs' Tennessee State contest, Feb. 11, due to a separate team rules violation. Armstrong is Austin Peay's leading scorer and rebounder in Ohio Valley Conference play, averaging 11.4 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

“Our players understand that there are certain expectations when it comes to being a member of this team,” said Daniels. “Janay has not met those expectations and I feel it is in the team's ? and her ? best interests to remind her that there are things more important than basketball.”
