NASHVILLE, Tenn. ? Austin Peay men's tennis team earned its season's first shutout, a 7-0 Ohio Valley Conference win over Tennessee State, Friday. The Govs improve to 3-12 overall and earned its first league victory to move to 1-5.

Tennessee State defaulted the No. 3 doubles match, meaning the Govs needed only one win to claim the point. Austin Peay, however, claimed a pair of decisive wins. Govs No. 1 tandem of Lucas De Brito and Leonardo Locatelli improved their OVC mark to 3-3 and moved one match over .500 at 8-7 overall at the position. Renan Bezerra and Francisco La Puente picked up their second OVC win at No. 2 doubles.

In singles action, the Govs shut down the Tigers. Locatelli bounced back from his loss against Tennessee Tech with a shutout win at No. 1 and improved to 3-3 at the position against OVC opponents. De Brito (No.2) and Bezerra (No. 3)  each earned shutout wins, while La Puente won at No 4 after losing only one game.

The Govs return to action with a Friday match at Morehead State.
