NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Austin Peay women's tennis team won its third straight match, a 6-1 decision, at Lipscomb, Tuesday.
The Lady Govs have won six of their last seven matches - the only loss coming at Jacksonville State in Ohio Valley Conference play.
"We were very focused," head coach Malik Tabet said. "I was very satisfied with the way the girls handled the match. Everyone is starting to come around. My goal is to get everyone on the same track by the end of the season and it's coming around. We're going to continue to work on the details."
A clean sweep in doubles set the tone for a dominating match by the Lady Govs. Sophomore
Vanja Tomic and senior
Mariana Pagan won at NO. 1 doubles - their second straight win, improving them to 6-3 overall. Freshman
Carolin Weikard and senior
Michelle Liew improved to 6-4 with a win at No. 2. Sophomore
Demi Georgakopoulos and senior
Yuki Nakamura also claimed an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
The singles side saw the Lady Govs win Nos. 1 through 5, each match in straight sets.
Brittany Hays suffered the Lady Govs only loss, despite picking up a second-set, 6-2, win.
Pagan remains undefeated at 9-0 playing No. 3 singles. Tomic, meanwhile improved to 8-2 overall and Weikard improved to 6-2. Liew picked up her third straight win at No. 4 singles.
