CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -The Mickey Fisher Memorial Golf
Tournament is less than 10 days away, set for July 10 at Cole Park on Ft. Campbell.
The tourney was organized to honor the memory of the late
Mickey Fisher, the former Austin Peay basketball player (1973-75), Ft. Campbell
High School basketball coach and local junior golf supporter who died in
August, 2009. The tourney is organized as an endowment to benefit dependents of
wounded or fallen Ft. Campbell soldiers with scholarships to Austin Peay.
Cost of the tournament is $400 per four-man teams. The
tourney activities include a pre-tourney dinner, Friday, July 9th at
the Bud Barn, located off Exit 19 on I-24. There will be two tourney sessions,
one beginning at 8 a.m. on July 10th and a second one at 1 p.m.
Lunch will be provided for both sessions and an awards ceremony will occur at
the conclusion of each session. Ed Sneed (931-905-0050) is serving as
tourney chairman.
