Austin Peay (18-12, 10-6 OVC) defeated Belmont 7-4 in a game where all 11 runs were scored with two outs on the board.
Sophomore Alex Robles pitched a complete game, and did not walk a batter in his nine innings on the hill. He improves his record to 3-2 on the season.
Garrett Copeland led the APSU offense once again, driving in the game-winning run in the fifth inning with a two-run home run.
THE LINEUP
Patrick Massoni… Massoni returned to the leadoff spot on Friday, going 1-for-3.
Cayce Bredlau… Bredlau went 2-for-5 on the day, including a run scored in the fifth.
Garrett Copeland… The second baseman is now hitting .371 with his 1-for-4 outing.
Logan Gray… The sophomore had an RBI single in the eighth.
Alex Robles… Robles went 0-for-3, but did help himself with a RBI (hit-by-pitch) and run scored.
Ridge Smith… Smith was 1-for-4 with a RBI single, which deflected off the Belmont pitcher.
Josh Wilson… The right fielder extended on-base streak reach 15 games with a two-RBI fourth-inning double.
Dre Gleason… Gleason went 2-for-4 with a double in the seventh frame.
Imani Willis… The shortstop reached once with a fielder's choice, going 0-for-4 with a run scored.
Chase Hamilton… Hamilton entered as a pinch-runner, then played center field. He went 0-for-1 with a run scored.
ON THE MOUND
Right-hander Alex Robles totaled 110 pitches – 75 for strikes – over nine innings. His eight strikeouts are a season-high.
It's the second complete game for Robles this season, and has now gone nine innings against Belmont in each of the two meetings, going back to last season's one hitter in Nashville.
