CLARKSVILLE – Austin Peay State University's baseball team will wrap up a home-and-home series against Middle Tennessee with a 6 p.m., Wednesday contest at Raymond C. Hand Park.
Austin Peay (16-12) begins a six-game home stand with Wednesday's contest. The Govs return home after posting a 2-2 record during their four-game Easter week road trip. Austin Peay wrapped the trip by losing a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series, 2-1, at Southeast Missouri during the weekend. Â
Wednesdays contest will be Austin Peay's 201st meeting against Middle Tennessee. The Govs won the season's first meeting with an 11-0 victory, March 31, in Murfreesboro. It was APSU's first shutout of Middle Tennessee since the 2002 season and first shutout in Murfreesboro since 1977.
Middle Tennessee (17-13) will play an OVC foe for the second straight day, visiting Clarksville after facing Tennessee Tech in a Tuesday home contest. The Blue Raiders remain atop the Conference USA table with a 9-3 record after losing a three-game set, 2-1, at nationally-ranked Rice last weekend.
Starting pitchers for both teams were not available Tuesday afternoon.
