CLARKSVILLE—It's almost time for Governors football, which means it's almost time for the return of Tailgate Alley, the first stop for Austin Peay State University football fans on gameday.
It will be a new-look unit under first-year head coach Will Healy that greets the Governors faithful into the rechristened Fortera Stadium, with five home dates dotting the schedule in 2016. All the gameday festivities begin on Tailgate Alley, which will open at noon on gameday each week.
Tailgaters are encouraged to reserve their spots in advance. For those who decide to tailgate at the last minute, limited spaces will be available on a first-come, first-served basis on gameday if they are not reserved in advance. All Tailgate Alley spots can be reserved free of charge.
The Clarksville Food Truck Association will have food trucks on hand for those who don't want to bother with cooking on gameday, although all fans are still welcome to grill all along Tailgate Alley. Concerts featuring local performers are scheduled for the home opener (Sept. 10) and Homecoming (Oct. 22) and the Kids Area, located near the soccer field, will once again feature inflatables and games for younger Governor fans.
The Governors Club and Alumni Association are joining up for a tailgate at each home game. For more information on this event, contact Nikki Peterson (petersonn@apsu.edu) or Alaric Klinghard (klingharda@apsu.edu).
