CLARKSVILLE – Chloe Stitt led the Austin Peay State University's volleyball team with 15 kills in a four-set Ohio Valley Conference defeat to Murray State, Wednesday night, at the Winfield Dunn Center.

After falling behind by two sets, Austin Peay (5-14, 3-2 OVC) rallied to win the third set.  Stitt led the way with four kills in the third set while Aysha Hood, Jenna Panning and Karli Graham each supplied two kills in errorless efforts during the frame.

However, the Governors had few answers for Murray State (10-7, 4-1 OVC) and in particular Rachel Giustino, who finished with 30 kills in the match. The Govs defense helped keep Giustino in check as it won the third set, forcing her into four of her five errors in the contest. However, Murray State recovered with a 16-kill performance in the fourth, Giustino leading the way with seven kills, to claim the match.

Stitt's 15-kill performance saw her post a .306 attack percentage. Panning had an errorless performance on attack, ending the match with nine kills on 17 swings (.529 attack percentage). Graham had seven kills, two service aces and four blocks.

Giustino hit .463 as part of her 30-kill, 12-dig double-double performance. Rachel Holthaus added 17 kills and four service aces.

Austin Peay makes a quick road trip to Morehead State for a 6 p.m., Saturday, OVC contest before returning home for a two-match home stand against Tennessee State and Belmont, Oct. 18 and 19.
