CLARKSVILLE – Austin Peay State University head baseball coach Travis Janssen has announced Greg Byron's departure from his position as assistant coach, effective immediately.
"We are thankful that over the past three seasons, Greg has built a solid foundation for our pitching staff," said Janssen. "We wish him nothing but the best on his future endeavors."
In his time at Austin Peay, Byron helped the Govs pitching staff post significant improvements in strikeouts and walks allowed. The past two seasons, he coached Austin Peay alumni Alex Robles and Michael Costanzo to First-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors.
Grayson Crawford will assume responsibilities as pitching coach for the remainder of the season.
Austin Peay returns to action when it hosts Tennessee Tech in a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series, Friday-Sunday, on Joe Maynard Field at Raymond C. Hand Park.
