CLARKSVILLE – Less than 24 hours after Austin Peay State University women's tennis dropped a match on the road at Louisville, the Governors quickly turned around and welcomed North Alabama to the Governors Tennis Center, where they promptly swept the Lions, 7-0, Saturday.

The Governors made quick work in doubles action, winning the No. 1 and No. 2 matchups to claim the doubles point. The No. 2 pairing of Fabienne Schmidt and Martina Paladini-Jennings were the first on the board, as the duo posted their first win together this spring.

The No. 1 matchup was wrapped up next, as Danielle Morris and Jana Leder improved to 6-4 this spring to clinch the doubles point. In the No. 3 doubles match, the undefeated duo of Ana Albertson and Sarah Heckel held a 5-3 lead, but their match was left unfished after Austin Peay had already claimed the doubles point.

In singles action, it was the top of the Governors lineup taking care of business early. Schmidt and Morris posted dominant wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 positions to stake the Govs to a 3-0 advantage. The match clinching point came in the No. 4 matchup, as Paladini-Jennings handily beat the No. 4 for North Alabama to put the match on ice.

With the match in hand, the No. 3 singles match was the next to go final, as Leder picked up another point and improved to 10-o in singles play during her Austin Peay career. Aleks Topalovic picked up her fifth singles win of the spring in the No. 5 position, as she easily dispatched the No. 5 player from North Alabama.

Finally, Heckel clinched the sweep for the Governors in the No. 6 position, as the freshman picked up her sixth singles win of the spring.
