CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Coming off a one-score loss to Lipscomb on Sunday, Austin Peay State University's soccer team begins its two-game road stretch to end the regular season, starting with Eastern Kentucky, at 3 p.m. (CT), Wednesday, at the Eastern Kentucky Soccer Field in Richmond, Kentucky.
Austin Peay (0-11-5, 0-6-2 ASUN) comes into Wednesday's match at Eastern Kentucky with two points in the Atlantic Sun Conference Gold Division, after falling to Lipscomb in its final home match of the 2025 season. In the match, senior Sophie Davidson led the Govs offensively after taking three shots. Freshman Abby Mathews led the Govs with a pair of shots on goal.
The Govs' defense played strongly Sunday, limiting Lipscomb to just one goal that came in the 33rd minute. The offense looks to take advantage on Wednesday against the Colonels, who have allowed 24 goals this season, which ranks sixth in the ASUN.
Eastern Kentucky (9-3-4, 4-2-2 ASUN) comes into Wednesday's match in second place in the ASUN Gold Division standings with 14 points. They are ahead of third-place North Alabama by just two points and are coming off a 3-2 loss at Central Arkansas on Sunday. It is the first time this season the Colonels have lost in conference play since opening up ASUN play at Lipscomb on Sept. 18, where the Bisons shut out the Colonels by two scores.
