JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Patton Samuels, a senior on the Austin Peay State University men's golf team, was named a 2026 Second Team All-Atlantic Sun Conference selection, the league announced Tuesday. In addition, Grady Cox, Parker Elkins, John Mark Mills, and Zach Olsen were named to the 2026 Academic All-ASUN Team.
Samuels led the Governors with a 70.80 scoring average, 13 rounds in the 60s, and 20 rounds at even or under par. He also posted a team-leading 28 counting scores while playing all 30 rounds during the 2025-26 season. Samuels also played to a 671-137-28 record against the field with an .830 winning percentage.
Samuels was the Govs' top finisher in 8-of-10 tournaments with five top-10 finishes and four top-three finishes, while posting three runner-up finishes during his senior season. The Clarksville native closed the season with back-to-back top-three finishes, including a third-place finish at the 2026 ASUN Conference Championship at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
Samuels shot an eight-under 64 in the second round of the Lake Las Vegas Invitational, matching the third-best 18-hole score in APSU history. He also shot seven-under 65 in the third round of the Racer Intercollegiate, matching the ninth-best 18-hole score in program history.
Samuels posted the sixth-best 54-hole score in program history when he shot 10-under 203 at the Sandestin Collegiate Classic and the eighth-best 54-hole score when he carded a 12-under 204 at the Lake Las Vegas Invitational.
The 2026 All-ASUN teams were based on Clippd rankings following the ASUN Championship, with the top-4 ranked golfers and the individual medalist at the ASUN Championship earning First Team All-ASUN. The next five highest ranked golfers earned Second Team All-ASUN and the next five highest ranked players in the conference earned Third Team All-ASUN.
Cox, a sophomore communications media major with a 3.9 grade-point average, posted a 75.06 scoring average with one round in the 60s, four rounds at even or under par, and a counting score in 12-of-15 rounds played while in the lineup.
Elkins is a sophomore marketing major with a 3.7 grade-point average while recording a 75.31 scoring average with three rounds in the 60s, seven rounds at even or under par, and a counting score in 11-of-20 rounds played while in the lineup.
A junior university studies major with a concentration of organizational administration and supervision, Mills has a 3.8 grade-point average and was 1-of-2 Govs to play in the lineup in all 10 tournaments. Mills posted a 74.50 scoring average with three rounds in the 60s, 10 rounds at even or under par, and a counting score in 26-of-30 rounds played during his first season at Austin Peay.
Finally, Olsen is a sophomore management major with a 3.54 grade-point average. On the course, Olsen played to a 74.90 scoring average with one round in the 60s, six rounds at even or under par, and a counting score in 16-of-18 rounds played while in the lineup.
