CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University's volleyball team continues preseason play with a 2 p.m. Saturday exhibition against Southern Indiana at the Physical Activities Center in Evansville, Indiana.
In their first exhibition, the Governors fell to Belmont in a 3-1 decision. The Govs dropped the first set 25-19, before tying the second set 25-22. The Govs dropped then dropped the final two sets 25-17, 25-10.
The Screaming Eagles went 19-13 and 14-4 in Ohio Valley Conference play in 2025. Their 2025 season concluded with a semifinal exit in the OVC Championship Semifinal against Morehead State.
The match will mark the 16th meeting between the Governors and the Screaming Eagles. Head Coach Evan Amstutz is 1-2 against Ohio Valley Conference Schools in his career at Austin Peay.
Following the exhibition the Govs return home and officially open the 2026 season with the Stacheville Challenge, Aug. 28-29. APSU begins its home tournament with a 1 p.m. match against UT Martin, Friday, before hosting Jackson State that evening at 7 p.m. The Govs then face Kansas City, Saturday.
