Clarksville, Tenn. – Sophomore Chase Korte, of the Austin Peay State University men’s golf team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Korte closed the fall slate with back-to-back top-10 finishes, placing seventh at the Pinetree Intercollegiate in Kennesaw, Georgia. Korte finished with a one-under 215 (70-71-74) for the tournament, leading the Govs with 11 birdies and in par-3 (3.08/hole), par-4 (4.13/hole) and par-5 (4.50/hole) scoring; he also tied for the team lead with 32 pars and an eagle on the par-5 No. 16 in round two.
Overall, it was the sixth career top-10 finish for Korte, just a season-and-a-half into his promising career; at the same point in his career, Korte’s older brother Dustin had just one top-10 showing.
