Post-Game Notes: APSU vs. Southeast Missouri

Post-Game Notes

  • APSU is now 2-6 in games decided by three points or less in 2013-14.
  • The Govs ended February with a 2-5 record.
  • In going 11-of-12 at the free-throw line, Travis Betran has attempted double-digit free throws in three of the last four games.
  • Betran's 28 points bested his previous 2013-14 best of 24, set against Dalton State, Dec. 30, 2013, and tied at Morehead State a week ago Wednesday.
  • Betran's 28 points were two shy of his career high set at SEMO last season.
  • In going 7-of-15 from three-point range, APSU set an OVC road best with those seven threes. It also was the Govs' most road three pointers since they had 10 against East Tennessee, Dec. 4.
  • For the third time in February, Travis Betran (28) and Ed Dyson (20) collected 20 or more points in the same game. Betran had 21 and Dyson 20 against Tennessee State, Feb. 6, while Dyson had 24 and Betran 23 against Eastern Illinois, Feb. 13.
  • In watching SEMO go 33 of 55 (60 percent) from the floor against them, the Govs have allowed the opposition to shoot 57 percent or better from the floor in three of the last four seasons.
  • In going 6-of-8 from the floor, Will Triggs shot 71.8 percent (28 of 39) in the month of February in averaging 11.1 ppg.
  • Not only did Travis Betran lead the Govs in scoring, he also paced the team in assists (five) against SEMO.
  • His 13 rebounds against SEMO were the most by Chris Horton since had 17 in the season opener against Oakland City.
  • After knee issues forced him to miss the Eastern Kentucky, junior Fred Garmon started at point guard against Southeast Missouri.
  • The 19-of-26 (73.1 percent) free-throw shooting against SEMO was only the fifth time in OVC play the Govs have shot 70 percent or better at the line.
