Govs set for match at Wright State, Saturday

CLARKSVILLE – After a pair of matches at home, Austin Peay State University men's tennis will head back out on the road for a 6 p.m., Saturday match against Wright State at the South Regency Tennis Center in Dayton, Ohio.

One team will pick up their first win of the season when Austin Peay and Wright State square off on Saturday, as both teams enter the match searching for their season's first win. The Governors fell to Illinois State, 6-1, in their last match; while Wright State dropped a match to Ball State, 7-0, last time out.

Christian Edison has led the way for the Governors this season, playing in the No. 1 singles position in all five matches.  Edison won his singles match last time out against Illinois State, and picked up a win in doubles play with Jacob Lorino while playing as the Govs No. 1 pairing.

Anton Damberg and Julius Gold have been the Governors No. 2 and No. 3 in singles in every match this year. Damberg and Gold have also been the Govs No. 2 doubles pairing in all five matches this season.

Lorino and sophomore Oliver Andersson have split time as the Governors No. 4 and No. 5 singles player this season, while Thiago Nogueira and Hunter Sanders have split time at the No. 6 position. Andersson has played in the Govs third doubles pairing each time out, with Sanders and Nogueira sharing time as his partner.
