Dyer Claims Second Consecutive UAC Men's Golfer of the Week Honor

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – For the second consecutive week, Austin Peay State University senior Jack Dyer has been named United Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced Thursday.

Dyer was again electric when it mattered most. With the Govs kicking off the final day of competition at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate on Hole No. 10, Dyer heated up in a hurry, with three straight birdies on Nos. 13-15 en route to a back-nine 33. He matched that with a bogey-free front-nine to fire his third-consecutive final-round 66 -- lowering his third-round scoring average to 67.8 after four tournaments.

Another stellar final round helped Dyer to a share of 10th at The Blackthorn Club thanks to a 54-hole career-best 206 (72-68-66), securing back-to-back top-10 finishes and Dyer's fourth top-20 showing in four events this fall. The Cypriot finished second in the tournament in fewest bogeys (three), third in pars (40) and was particularly effective on par-4 holes, averaging 3.73 strokes per par-4 attempt.

The weekly honor is the third of Dyer's career and second in as many weeks; he is now the first Austin Peay men's golf student-athlete to earn back-to-back conference Golfer of the Week honors since Seth Smith went back-to-back for the weeks of Oct. 17 and Oct. 24, 2024. He's just the fourth player in program history to earn back-to-back weekly honors, joining Smith, Marco Iten (twice, in 2013 and 2014) and Anthony Bradley (2013).

The Govs have entered the winter break portion of the schedule and will return to action next spring at the Loyola Intercollegiate, Feb. 28-March 2 at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona. For news and updates, follow Austin Peay men's golf (@GovsMGO) on X and Instagram, or visit LetsGoPeay.com.
