Clarksville, Tenn. – Freshman forward Terry Taylor, of the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Taylor earned his fourth adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week honor after averaging 22.0 points and 9.5 rebounds in wins against UT Martin and Southeast Missouri last week.

He opened the week with 15 points and five boards before a national audience in the Governors CBS Sports Network contest against UT Martin, but saved his best performance for Saturday’s contest against the Redhawks, pouring in 29 points (24 in the second half) and pulled in a career-high 14 rebounds to help the Govs fend off Southeast Missouri, sinking four free-throws in the final seconds to secure the win.

The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Wednesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

• Senior forward Averyl Ugba, of the men’s basketball team, earned OVC Newcomer of the Week honors after averaging 13.0 points and 9.0 rebounds last week, racking up his third straight double-double with 13 points and 10 boards against UT Martin.
• Sophomore Emmaculate Kiplagat, of the track and field team, won the mile (5:30.39) and 3000m (11:05.82) runs at the Ed Temple Classic, her first two victories during indoor season.
• Senior forward Brianne Alexander, of the women’s basketball team, averaged 12.0 ppg and 6.0 rpg to help the Govs sweep UT Martin and Southeast Missouri. She led the Govs with 17 points and nine boards to topple the Skyhawks.
