Clarksville, Tenn. – Senior defensive end Nate Howard, of the Austin Peay State University football team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

The St. Louis native racked up five tackles, including two for loss, along with a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in the Govs 49-34 win against Tennessee State in front of a record crowd at Fortera Stadium, Saturday. He also batted down a pass and registered a quarterback hurry as part of a busy day in and around the Tiger backfield.

Sunday, the senior was named Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week, Howard’s first and the first for a Governor defender since Jaison Williams won for Week 5 of the 2017 season.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

• Senior setter Kristen Stucker, of the volleyball team, picked up her 19^th career OVC Setter of the Week honor and her fifth this season, led the Govs to a .253 team attack percentage in wins against Eastern Illinois and SIUE. She averaged 12.57 assists per set, handing out 53 in the four-set triumph against the Cougars.  
• Freshman Taylor Dedmen, of the women’s golf team, placed 10^th in her first home tournament with a 228 (79-74-75) at the 2018 F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, leading the tournament at 4.93 strokes on par-5 attempts.
• Senior defender/forward McKenzie Dixon, of the soccer team, tallied the game-winning goal on a header against Eastern Kentucky, helping the Governor defense shutout the Colonels and holding them without a shot on goal.
