CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.– Junior outside hitter Brooke Moore, of the Austin Peay State University volleyball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

With her 29-kill, 22-dig performance (both career bests) against Missouri State, Brooke became first Govs player to post a 20-20 outing since 2009. She hit .377 against Missouri State (29-6-61) with four blocks and two aces to finish with 33.5 points (6.7/set).

Moore, a Louisville, Kentucky native, followed that with 12-kill, 13-dig outing against Wright State and opened the tournament with 6 kills, 4 assists, 8 digs against host Ball State. Moore named to Ball State all-tournament team.

The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Athletic Communications staff each Wednesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

  • Junior DeAngelo Wilson, of the Austin Peay football team, posted his third 100-yard receiving performance of 2019 to help Austin Peay State University's football team build a halftime lead before ETSU. He is the first Governor to post 100 receiving yards three times in the first four games of a season.
  • Sophomore Jack McDonald, of the Austin Peay football team, had a first-quarter fumble recovery and a third-quarter interception while also posting five tackles.
  • Senior goalkeeper Mary Parker Powell, of the soccer team, kept a clean sheet for the second time in her last three starts as Austin Peay’s soccer team played Cincinnati to a 0-0 double-overtime draw, Saturday, at Gettler Stadium.
  • Junior Thomas Porter, of the men’s cross country team, broke the school record in the APSU Cross Country Invitational five-kilometer race after he finished eighth for the Governors with a time of 15:21.51.
