CLARKSVILLE – Junior guard Terry Taylor, of the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

A Bowling Green, Kentucky native, Taylor averaged 31 points over the last week. Taylor posted a 37 point and 16 rebound double-double against Southeastern Louisiana to start the week. Taylor followed that performance with a 25 point, eight rebound (four offensive), a career-high four block, and two steal outing in the Govs win over South Carolina State.

The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Athletic Communications staff each Wednesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

  • Senior JaVaughn Craig, of the Austin Peay football team, led Austin Peay to their first ever win in the FCS playoffs, throwing for 264 yards and three touchdowns. Not stopping there, he also added 20 yards on the ground, carrying the ball eight times.
  • Senior Kentel Williams, of the Austin Peay football team, bounced back in a big way after missing the final week of the regular season. Williams carried the ball 11 times for 57 yards and a touchdown against Furman in the first round of the FCS Playoffs. But William’s biggest contribution came in the passing game, with four receptions for 103 yards, and 73 of those yards coming on a single screen pass that he took to the house.
  • Freshman guard Carlos Paez, of the men’s basketball team, exploded for 17 points in 16 minutes of action in 92-66 win over South Carolina State last week. Paez ranks second in the OVC in free throw percentage (93.9%). Paez earned Ohio Valley Conference men’s basketball Freshman of the Week honors, marking the third-straight week a Governor has taken home the award.
