“We need to realize how important every possession is,” said Lady Govs head coach Carrie Daniels “I don't believe our players understand what those turnovers have cost us in terms of how many points we given up to teams off those turnovers.”

Through six games, freshman Ashley Herring leads the Lady Govs in both scoring (12.0 ppg) and rebounding (7.0 rpg). She is joined in double-figure scoring territory by Ashlee McGee (10.7 ppg) who also has a team-best 30 assists (5.0 apg) in the early going.

Morehead State enters its conference opener after snapping a four-game losing streak with an 83-60 victory against Alice Lloyd College, Saturday. Freshman Chynna Bozeman led the Eagles with 21 points and senior Afton Perry added a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double effort. Through seven games, Bozeman leads MSU with 11.0 points per game. Senior Anitha Smith-Williams is added 10.3 points per outing.

Last season, Morehead State and Austin Peay split the regular-season series with the home team winning each time. The Lady Govs won the regular-season series finale in Clarksville, 74-66. Three Lady Govs accounted for 54 of the 74 points ? Saundra Hale leading the charge with 24 points and Amber Bacon added 14 points.
