Post-Game Comments from Head Coach Dave Loos

On tonight's performance in a game that went down to the wire

“It was a great game. I think they (Southeast Missouri) have a great ballclub and are well coached. Their players play hard and I was happy to come out of tonight's game with a win. Despite SEMO shooting 52 percent from the floor I thought it was a great effort on our part. The shots they did hit our guys made them earn it. It was a good all-around basketball game and it was very competitive throughout. We took the lead and then they came back and really it came down to the last couple possessions of was going to make plays. It sure was a fun game to watch.”

How big was it for some of the team leaders to hit some big shots late in the second half?

“DJ (Derek Wright) made some big plays down the stretch. I thought Wes (Channels) made some big shots in the second half and (Fernandez) Lockett and (Drake) Reed played great throughout the game. Todd hit a big three for us to go ahead 78-77. I have to compliment our team of the way we played.”

On the post play of Drake Reed and Fernandez Lockett

“They were really good inside tonight. We had a plan to go to both of them heading into tonight and they delivered. We attacked the press really well and gave both them some easier shots inside. I'm really proud to get this win and for both of them to lead us tonight.”
