CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. ? Austin Peay State University men's tennis team picked up a win in its season's first home match, 6-1, over Cumberland, Monday, at the Austin Peay Tennis Center.

The Govs swept the doubles point and lost only one singles match on the way to their first win. After rolling through the doubles competition, the Bulldogs showed some fight on the singles side.

Junior Lucas De Brito blasted the Bulldogs' Mike Basler (6-2, 6-4) at No. 1 singles for the Govs only straight-set win. Leonardo Locatelli, Patrick Puertolas and Jay Wilkinson each earned their wins in come-from-behind fashion.

At No. 2 singles, Locatelli was blanked in the first set, but rebounded to win (6-2, 6-2) in the last two sets. Puertolas dropped a first-set tiebreaker and won the final sets (6-3, 6-3) at No. 3 singles. After losing 6-3 in the first set at No. 5 singles, Wilkinson won a tiebreaker in the second set and then a 10-point tiebreaker for the match.
