CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. ? Austin Peay State University men's tennis team split a pair of weekend matches, losing to Clemson, 7-0, Friday, before picking up a win against Vincennes, Saturday.

The Govs closest match against Clemson came at No. 2 doubles where Govs tandem of Lucas De Brito and Patrick Puertolas lost, 9-7. The Tigers dominated the singles competition, with De Brito's straight set loss at No. 1 singles highlighting the Govs performance.

Austin Peay got a quick jump on Vincennes, winning the doubles point by taking the No. 1 and No. 3 matches. De Brito and Puertolas lost their second-straight match at No. 2 doubles. The Govs hammered out four more wins in the singles competition, including a marathon three-set tiebreaker win by Jay Wilkinson at No. 5 singles.

Austin Peay returns to the courts for a 2 p.m., Wednesday match with Bethel at the Governors Tennis Center.
