LEXINGTON, Ky.?Austin Peay State University's golf team finds itself in sixth place after the first two rounds of the UK Bluegrass Invitational, being played at UK Big Blue Golf Course.

The Govs shot an opening-round 302 Saturday morning before following up with an afternoon 300 for a 602 total. Host Kentucky leads the tourney with a 582, nine strokes better than Western Carolina.

APSU holds a slight edge over a pair fellow Ohio Valley Conference schools. Morehead State is in sixth place at 608 followed by Murray State at 608.

Individually, sophomore Luke Sherrod finds himself in a seventh-place tie after shooting a three-over (74-73) 147. Junior Erik Barnes is tied for 10th one stroke back (72-76=148).

Senior Matt Coles 79-76) and junior Eric Anfinson (77-78) are tied for 47th at 155.

Sophomore Brian Balthrop is in 73rd at 160 but bounced back from an opening-round 85 for a second-round 75.

The tourney's final round will be played Sunday.
