Player of the Game: Cayce Bredlau (1-for-3, HR, 3 RBI, R)
Austin Peay (22-19, 13-12 OVC) dropped Game 3 on Sunday, 5-4, losing the series to Morehead State. It's the first time the Eagles have won a series in Clarksville since 1999.
APSU starter Jared Carkuff did not allow a run until the eighth inning, where the Eagles batted around to score five runs in the frame.
Sophomores Cayce Bredlau and Dre Gleason each homered in the contest, with all four of APSU's runs coming via the long ball.
THE LINEUP
Ridge Smith… Starting at third base, Smith went 0-for-2 and reached twice with walks. He also scored once.
Cayce Bredlau… Bredlau homered in the third, a three-run shot, for his sixth of 2015.
Garrett Copeland… Copeland was 1-for-4 with a single in the sixth.
Josh Wilson… Wilson went 1-for-3 with a walk on Sunday.
Alex Robles… The designated hitter was 1-for-3 after a single in the second.
Dre Gleason… Gleason launched a towering home run to right field in the seventh, going 1-for-4.
Patrick Massoni… Massoni went 0-for-4 against Morehead State.
T.J. Marik… Starting at catcher, Marik was 1-for-3 with a run scored in the third.
Imani Willis… Getting the start at second base, Willis was 0-for-3 at the plate.
Chase Hamilton… Hamilton entered as a pinch-runner for Wilson.
ON THE MOUND
Austin Peay pitchers combined to allow five runs on eight hits in the contest.
Jared Carkuff pitched seven innings, giving up two runs on four hits. He also struck out six, walked one, but did not factor into the decision.
After Michael Costanzo gave up a three-run home run, A.J. Gaura entered to throw an inning, allowing two runs to cross the plate. The right-hander was deemed the losing pitcher, dropping his record to 1-1 on the year. Levi Primasing came on to pitch the last inning, sitting the Eagles down in order.
