McGowan Announces 18-Match Soccer Slate

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University head soccer coach Kim McGowan announced the Governors 18-match 2025 schedule featuring eight games at Morgan Bros. Field.

"The 2025 schedule is the most competitive we've had since joining the ASUN," said McGowan. "With two SEC opponents, along with some local foes and challenges - we are excited to see what this team can do. I believe the players we have coming back and those that are coming in are ready to continue to raise the standard of Austin Peay soccer. Morgan Bros. Field will be the place to be this fall, and we love being Clarksville's Hometown Team!"

Coming off a 2024 campaign in which the Governors captured a program-record eight Atlantic Sun Conference postseason awards and secured its first winning season since 2017, the Governors open 2025 with a pair of exhibition matches at Kentucky (Aug. 3) before hosting Belmont (Aug. 9).

Following its final tune-up against the Bruins, Austin Peay hits the road for four-straight games to open the regular season, beginning with its first-ever matchup against Vanderbilt (Aug. 14) in Nashville. The Govs then head to the Bluegrass State for back-to-back outings where they face longtime rival Morehead State (Aug. 17) and another first-time foe in Northern Kentucky (Aug. 21). The extended, season-opening road trip then concludes back in Tennessee at UT Martin (Aug. 24).

Five of APSU's next six matches are then on its home field, with it facing Chattanooga (Aug. 28) in the home opener. September then begins with the Govs' hosting Evansville (Sept. 4) and Murray State (Sept. 7) before closing nonconference play at Western Kentucky (Sept. 11) in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Austin Peay's fourth Atlantic Sun Conference campaign begins at home with matches against Bellarmine (Sept. 18) and Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 21).

A stretch of three-straight road contests first takes the Govs down I-24 for an in-state clash at Lipscomb (Sept. 26), before then facing both North Alabama (Oct. 2) and Central Arkansas (Oct. 5) on the road.

Following its clash in Conway, Arkansas, APSU turns around to play host to the Bears (Oct. 9), before playing North Alabama (Oct. 12) and Lipscomb (Oct. 17) in its final pair of home matches of the season.

The final weekend of the regular season takes the Govs back to the Bluegrass State for the third time in 2025 when it faces Eastern Kentucky (Oct. 22) and Bellarmine (Oct. 25).

The 2025 ASUN Women's Soccer Championship then is Oct. 30-Nov. 9.
