Clarksville, Tenn. – Sophomore center Chris Horton, of Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Horton averaged 12 points and 9.5 rebounds in two contests last week, including his season’s fourth double-double, an 11-point, 10-rebound effort at Samford.
At 12.4 points and 10.0 rebounds through the season’s first nine games, Horton is one of just 29 Division I men’s players averaging a double-double this season.
The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.
 
Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

• Freshman forward Beth Rates, of the women’s basketball team, led the Lady Govs with 13 points and eight rebounds off the bench in Austin Peay’s road loss at Xavier, Saturday.
• Junior sprinter Maikea Davis, of the track and field team, was runner-up in the 200m dash at the season-opening Middle Tennessee Christmas Invite, with a 25.02 mark that bested any run by a Lady Gov during the 2012-13 season.
