CLARKSVILLE – Senior outside hitter Jenna Panning of the Austin Peay State University volleyball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

A native of Columbus, Ohio, Panning led the Governors against SIUE with a career-high 21 kills, besting her old career-high of 14 from earlier in the season. Panning finished the match against the Cougars with a .314 attack percentage. In the weekend’s second match against EIU, Panning posted 12 kills and a .296 attack percentage.

The APSU Athletic Communications staff select the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week each Wednesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay student-athletes included:

• Senior linebacker Pat Walker, of the football team, had a game changing interception in the third quarter against Eastern Kentucky., picking off the Colonels while they were driving in Govs territory. The 38-yard return set the Governors offense up on the EKU 34 yard line and led to a touchdown on that drive, and ultimately to a 14-0 Govs run. 
• Junior wide receiver DeAngelo Wilson, of the football team, got things going for the Govs on offense, taking a JaVaughn Craig screen pass 49 yards for a touchdown. He would also make six more grabs for 56 yards in the Governors overtime win at Eastern Kentucky.
• Senior Ginny Gehrig Busse, of the volleyball team, posted back-to-back 20 plus digs performances over the weekend. In the first match, she posted 23 digs against Eastern Illinois. In the second match of the weekend, she had 27 digs, 3 aces, 2 assists, and no reception errors.
