Austin Peay State University Athletics

Clarksville, Tenn. – Senior guard Travis Betran, of Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Betran scored 24 points, including the go-ahead free-throw, to lead Austin Peay to an 88-86 win on the road at Youngstown State. The Harlem native’s season-high scoring binge came on 7-for-17 from the floor, including three three-pointers, and a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. 
Betran’s now averaging 11.9 points in seven contests, and has hit 20-of-23 (.870) from the charity stripe this season.
The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.
 
Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

• Sophomore guard Tiasha Gray, of the women’s basketball team, scored a career-high 28 points on 13-for-20 from the floor in Austin Peay’s 81-60 win against Central Arkansas to close out November. She’s averaging 18.3 points and 6.7 assists through the season’s first six games.
• Sophomore guard Zavion Williams, of the men’s basketball team, came off the bench for 20 points on 8-for-11 shooting, including the game-clinching jumper with 15 seconds remaining, in the Govs 88-86 victory at Youngstown State. Since moving to a reserve role prior to the Cal State Northridge game, Williams is averaging 14.6 points on 52 percent (13-for-25) shooting.
