CLARKSVILLE – Freshman guard Jordyn Adams, of the Austin Peay men’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

A Silsbee, Texas native, Jordyn Adams, averaged 15 points, 2 rebounds and 1.5 steals this week making him the Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the week for the third week in row and seventh time overall for the 2019-20 season.

Last week against SIU Edwardsville and Eastern Illinois he put up 17 points against the cougars with 13 points to follow against the panthers. He is now only two freshmen of the week awards behind Chris Horton, who has the most in Austin Peay History.

The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Athletic Communications staff each Wednesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

• Junior Christian Edison, of the Austin Peay men’s tennis team, picked up his first two wins of the spring season. He won his doubles and single matches against Illinois State, beating the Redbird’s No. 1 singles player and their No. 1 doubles pairing.
• Junior Fabienne Schimidt, of Austin Peay State women’s tennis team, was named the OVC Women’s Tennis Player of Week. The Hillscheid, Germany, native improved to 4-0 on the season in singles play last week, beating Western Kentucky’s No. 1 singles player. She also improved to 3-1 in doubles action, having played exclusively with Aleks Topalovic this spring.
