Clarksville, Tenn. – Junior defensive back Roderick Owens, of the Austin Peay State University football team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Owens was heavily involved for an Austin Peay defense that held Tennessee State to just 76 yards passing and 241 total yards, Saturday. The junior from Memphis finished the contest with six tackles (four solo) and an interception, his team-leading third in 2015.

With two games remaining in 2015, Owens ranks second on the team with 53 total tackles, including a team-high 38 solo stops. Not only are his three interceptions tied for third-most in the league with Eastern Kentucky’s Stanley Absanon, he’s tied for third with Tennessee State’s Ezra Robinson with nine passes defended.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

• Junior midfielder Gina Fabbro, of the women’s soccer team, scored a 47^th-minute goal—her team-leading 10^th—in the regular season finale against Murray State. In doing so, she became the third Lady Gov in program history to reach double-digits in single-season goals, joining Ashley Beck (2007) and Tatiana Ariza (2010-13).
• Senior Jessica Gray, of the cross-country team, finished 15^th in her final OVC Cross-Country Championships appearance, recording an 18:12.30 in the five-kilometer race.
