CLARKSVILLE – Over half of Austin Peay State University's student-athletes received academic recognition following the recently concluded spring semester with the department announcing its student-athletes posted a 2.91 grade-point average.
The department saw 170 student-athletes named to the Athletics Director's Honor Roll, each earning a minimum 3.0 GPA during the semester. The athletics department saw 84 student-athletes named to Austin Peay's Dean's List and 34 of those were recognized on the President's list, each posting an unblemished 4.0 GPA.
Eleven of the athletics department's 16 teams finished the semester with better than a 3.0 team grade-point average. The women's tennis program led the way with an impressive 3.642 GPA. Meanwhile, the men's cross country team led all men's programs with a 3.178 GPA.
The other nine team's posting a 3.0 GPA were: women's cross country (3.579), women's basketball (3.457), women's soccer (3.415), women's volleyball (3.388), women's golf (3.382), women's track and field (3.263), dance team (3.194), softball (3.075) and men's tennis (3.016).

Established in 1990-91, the Athletics Director's Honor Roll recognizes the outstanding academic accomplishments of Austin Peay State University student-athletes. To earn recognition student-athletes must achieve at least a 3.0 grade-point average for a semester.
