Austin Peay State University Athletics

Clarksville, Tenn. – Senior outfielder Chase Hamilton, of the Austin Peay State University baseball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Hamilton closed his Austin Peay career in style last week at the Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championship, earning All-Tournament honors by hitting .467 (7-for-15) with four home runs, tying for most in Austin Peay history with 37 career homers.

He homered in back-to-back at-bats against Jacksonville State, Thursday, providing the winning run via a solo shot in the ninth inning. His batting average was second on the team and he slugged an impressive 1.400 thanks largely to six of his seven hits going for extra bases.

The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Wednesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

• Sophomore pole vaulter Savannah Amato, of the track and field team, posted the Governors best showing at the 2017 NCAA East Preliminary with a 25^th-place finish in the pole vault. She hit 3.95m (12-11.50) in the event, clearing two bars and reaching as high as 12^th in the standings.
